Carlos is a lawyer with over 10 years of experience in corporate, banking and finance, mergers and acquisitions, capital markets and the structuring of complex transactional projects. He regularly advises companies throughout their establishment and expansion in Mexico, including soft landings, providing comprehensive legal counsel on regulatory compliance, corporate governance, contract drafting and negotiation, and foreign investment matters.
His practice focuses on identifying and addressing both day-to-day and high-profile legal needs of domestic and international clients across a wide range of industries, offering strategic, business-oriented solutions tailored to each client’s objectives.
Throughout his career, Carlos has advised and represented issuers, investment funds, financial institutions, placement agents and other market participants in the structuring, negotiation and closing of a broad range of financial transactions, including initial public offerings (IPOs), public and private offerings, securitizations and other structured finance instruments. He has extensive experience in the formation of trusts and the design of financing structures, including bilateral and syndicated financings, structured and secured transactions. Additionally, he has advised clients on regulatory matters related to the incorporation and operation of financial institutions.
Prior to joining SMPS Legal, Carlos was a member of the corporate and transactional practice at Santamarina y Steta, S.C.
