Welcome Daniel Del Rio – New Strategic Partner in the Corporate and Transactional practice area joins SMPS Legal
MEXICO CITY, MEXICO, July 1st, 2022 – We welcome Daniel Del Río to our SMPS Legal family as strategic partner of the corporate, M&A and transactional practice areas in Mexico as of July 1st, 2022.
Prior to joining SMPS Legal, Daniel was a partner at Basham, Ringe y Correa for more than 30 years and advised medium and large companies focusing on M&A, compliance, international transactions and business strategies. Daniel is currently the Treasurer of the International Bar Association (“IBA”), as well as the Secretary-Treasurer of the Legal Practice Division (“LPD”) and member of the Management Board of the IBA Council. He also serves as a member of the Board of Directors of several companies.
Daniel has also been recognized by Chambers & Partners (Global and Latin America) and by Legal 500 as a leading lawyer in Mexico in M&A and corporate governance in recent years.
He has authored several articles and chapters on mergers and acquisitions, e-commerce, as well as real estate, infrastructure, corporate governance, and compliance.
Daniel has been involved in structuring Pro-Bono work in Mexico, actively promoting the participation of Mexican lawyers through the Barra Mexicana foundation, where he was chairman. He is also actively involved several non-profit organizations.
