SMPS Legal sponsored the Mexico GRI Real Estate 2022 event
MEXICO CITY, MEXICO, August 31st, 2022 – SMPS Legal sponsored the Mexico GRI Real Estate 2022 event held on August 24 and 25 at St. Regis in Mexico City, an event that is held every year to discuss the main trends and developments of the Mexican real estate market and conduct an economic analysis of our country in connection with the real estate sector.
The event brings together the main key players of the real estate industry, as well as banks, funds, investors, and developers, with more than 100 companies in different forums.
Our partners María Teresa Paillés and María Esther Rey participated in the event as moderators of the “offices and workspaces” and “retail and shopping centers” discussions, respectively.
In the “offices and workspaces” discussion, the participants talked about supply vs. demand, trends of available leasable space and inherent rents both in Mexico City and in secondary cities, identify real estate assets that have been showing better numbers, flexible working spaces, and the conversion of projects, as well as capital structures.
The discussion on “retail and shopping centers” included the adaptability and models of the future, as well as the opening of new shopping centers, rental prices, rental space under construction, and the outlook in Mexico City and secondary cities. In addition, the effects and impact of eCommerce in traditional reatil models.
